Kaleidomonster

This project began as a simple experiment in SideFX Houdini. I was curious about the outcome of repeatedly cutting a random geometry in half, mirror-copying it, and rotating it randomly. It's quite amazing how organic and diverse the resulting shapes are, especially considering the extreme simplicity of both the algorithm and the input geometries.

Given the sheer variety of results compared to the straightforward process, I spent most of my time simply selecting the shapes that I found appealing and interesting. Many combinations of color and form emerged that would be almost impossible for me to design intentionally.

While it felt like almost any shape could emerge from this process, I suspect my brain subconsciously recognized forms resembling living things. It's as if these 'monsters' were hiding in another dimension, and I accidentally discovered them.

Perheps this is the most surpring one since my system is purly mathmatical but creates a bird, and it has no head...
